CEE region is opening for travelers


We are happy to announce that the tourism and event industry starts to pick up in the CEE region after many uncertain months. Therefore, starting from 31st May onwards, the following measures will apply in the tourism service industry in the Czech Republic:


Current information on the situation in the Czech Republic:


Air connections return – Prague International Airport is connected again to:

  • European Key Destinations – AMS, PAR, MAD, LON, VIE, WAW, FRA
  • Main Holiday Destinations – Croatia, Spain, Greece, Egypt with regular and charter flights
  • Long-Distance Flights – Emirates and flyDubai connections to Dubai, Qatar Airways to Doha


Public transportation – local trains, buses are regularly operating in the Czech Republic and trams and metro in Prague. However, the night connection is limited. The travelers have to use mouth and nose protection; recommended is respirator FFP2 or KN95.


Accommodation hotels, boarding houses and other accommodation facilities will also be open from 31st May, without capacity restrictions. The condition is that the guests provide valid information about – a) a confirmation of vaccination or b) confirmation about negative PCR test or c) have undergone covid-19 in the last six months. Guests will also need to wear mouth and nose protection. Hotels will also not be allowed to host night events.


Restaurants – from 17th May onwards, the outdoor restaurant premised (gardens, terraces, open-air courtyards, etc.) are open. The visitors should prove themselves with negative tests (PCR or antigen test). From 31st May, the restaurants are open entirely, following the standard hygienic covid measures.

The restaurants' interiors will open from middle June 2021, according to the plan.


Congresses, Cultural and Sports events 1 000 visitors can watch outdoor events; a maximum of 500 visitors can attend indoor events from now onwards. At congresses, conferences, or other educational events, 150 can gather at outdoor premises and 75 indoors.

From 24th May, open-air events can take place for a maximum of 700 spectators. The condition for participation in all the mentioned events is and will be either a negative test, 14 days from the completed vaccination, or a maximum of 180 days from the covid-19 disease. Only seated spectators can attend both types of events and must wear a respirator.
